Privacy policy
This policy explains what the Idaho Narcotics Officers' Association (INOA) collects when you visit this site or register for the annual conference, what we do with it, and who else sees it.
Effective date: [To be decided by the INOA board: effective date]
What we collect
When you register. The registration form asks for your name, title or rank, agency, email, phone and mailing address, and optionally your Idaho POST ID, dietary needs, accessibility needs and any notes you add. It also records that you agreed to the registration terms and which version you agreed to, and whether you left the “Email me about future INOA training” box ticked.
When you pay. You enter your card details on Stripe’s checkout page, not on this site. INOA never sees or stores your full card number. Stripe shows us the card type, its last four digits and the billing details Stripe asks for.
When you contact us. The contact form doesn’t send anything itself: it opens your own email app with your message filled in. We receive whatever you then email us.
When you browse. This site has no analytics, advertising or tracking, and sets no cookies. GitHub, which hosts the site, keeps standard server logs (such as your IP address and browser type) under its own privacy statement; INOA doesn’t receive them.
Cookies and browser storage
This site doesn’t set cookies. If you pick a light, dark or high contrast display, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
Two services run their own code when you register. The security check on the registration page is Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at your browser and device to tell people from automated bots. The checkout page is run by Stripe. Each uses cookies and similar technology under its own privacy policy.
How we use it
We use your registration details to:
- register you for the conference and take your payment
- send your receipt (Stripe emails it on our behalf)
- prepare name badges and the attendee list
- report your training hours to Idaho POST, if you give us your POST ID
- plan meals and arrange any accommodations you ask for
- contact you about your registration, such as a change to the schedule, venue or dates
- tell you about future INOA conferences and training, but only if you left the “Email me about future INOA training” box ticked when you registered
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t send marketing for anyone else. If you ticked the box and change your mind, email idahoinoa@gmail.com and we will stop.
Dietary and accessibility needs can reveal something about your health or religion. Both are optional, and we use them only to plan meals and arrange accommodations.
How long we keep it
[To be decided by the INOA board: how long registration records are kept]
Payment records themselves may need to be kept for tax and accounting purposes even after your registration details are removed.
Your choices
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, to correct them, or to have them deleted. Email idahoinoa@gmail.com from the address you registered with and we will reply as soon as we can. INOA is run by volunteers, so please allow a few days.
Your card details are entered on Stripe’s page and protected by Stripe. Only INOA’s board officers can see registration records.
Children
This site and the conference are for adult professionals. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and registration is for adults only.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Questions about your privacy can go to idahoinoa@gmail.com or by mail to INOA at PO Box 680, Rigby, ID 83442.
